Designed exclusively for the Ford GT

Engineered without compromise.

When Ford required a transport solution for the modern Ford GT, they didn’t adapt an existing trailer. They commissioned a new one. JIMGLO was selected to design and build a trailer capable of supporting Ford’s concierge and logistics program for one of the world’s most exclusive supercars.

The Ford GT x JIMGLO Story

The Ford GT was a car born from a singular obsession: returning Ford to Le Mans, exactly fifty years after their legendary 1966 victory over Ferrari.  Developed in total secrecy, the project was a pure engineering pursuit.  Ford built the race car first, prioritizing groundbreaking aerodynamics—those iconic "flying buttresses"—and a compact V6 engine that allowed for its radical, wind-sculpting shape. The road car was the stunning byproduct of that mission. The design of the Ford GT is iconic but Ford also set out to offer an exclusive ownership experience.  A select number of Ford dealerships would be certified to sell and service the limited-edition Ford GT.  Those dealerships were required to make a significant financial investment and meet stringent criteria.  The list of requirements were created to ensure that only dedicated and highly-trained facilities could handle the vehicle's unique needs, reinforcing the GT's exclusive, high-performance status.

Ford required servicing dealers to purchase a specialized enclosed car trailer to transport the Ford GT to and from the dealership for any service or warranty work.

It was obvious from the beginning that transporting the Ford GT could not be done with a typical enclosed car trailer.  Ford needed a trailer that would meet the needs of Ford Motor Company’s Crown Jewel.

The teams at Ford and JIMGLO Trailers spent months in meetings and brainstorming sessions to overcoming the challenges of safety transporting the Ford GT.  After the preliminary findings showed that “in theory” everything should work, JIMGLO Trailers was invited to the Ford Proving Grounds to test fit one of the Ford GT Prototypes in the specially designed and configured JIMGLO Elite.

The partnership was born, and Ford exclusively recommends the JIMGLO Elite as the specialized enclosed car trailer to transport the Ford GT.

Commissioned by Ford. Built by JIMGLO.

The Ford GT’s ultra-low ride height, wide stance, and aerodynamic profile demanded a ground-up solution. The JIMGLO Ford GT Trailer was engineered around the car’s exact requirements to ensure safe, repeatable transport with no compromises.

Concierge-Level Transport

This trailer delivers the same standard Ford expects for its own vehicles—maximum protection, stability, and presentation from loading to delivery.

  • Ultra-low clearance loading geometry
  • Optimized approach and departure angles
  • Secure wheel positioning and restraint systems
  • Enclosed, climate-controlled environment

OEM-Trusted. Owner-Approved.

Originally built for Ford’s concierge service, the JIMGLO Ford GT Trailer is also available to private owners and professional transporters who demand factory-level solutions.

Every Ford GT Trailer is manufactured with premium materials, precise craftsmanship, and an obsessive focus on function and finish. Nothing is added without purpose. Nothing is overlooked.

Challenges of Transporting the Ford GT:

Extremely Wide

The Ford GT is extremely wide.   With an overall width of almost 80" (not including the mirrors), the Ford GT was too wide for most enclosed car trailers available on the market.  The JIMGLO Elite has almost 84" inches between the fenders.  The driver side fender is removable which makes it easy to drive the Ford GT into the trailer, and open the door and step out.

Extremely Low

The Ford GT is extremely low.  Loading the car would need to be accomplished without any contact with the front splitter or undercarriage.  The Ford GT has a hydraulic lift which makes loading into a typical trailer pretty easy.  BUT....Ford wanted to make sure the car could be loaded into the trailer even if the hydraulic lift was inoperable.  In fact the pre production Ford GT that we used to test fit the car and trailer at the proving grounds didn't even have a functioning lift system.  The JIMGLO Elite has a very low ramp angle using ramp extensions that made loading the Ford GT simple.

AVOID COSTLY DAMAGE

The Ford GT has large doors that swing out and up.  In most enclosed car trailers you can't even open the door, much less get out.  Ford didn’t want any drivers or techs crawling through the cars window.  Ford wanted the driver door of the Ford GT to fully open without coming in contact with any part of the trailer.  The JIMGLO Elite has a huge 10' escape door that is one of the largest in the industry which allows the door of the Ford GT to open fully without touching any part of the trailer.  In an effort to avoid damage, Ford didn’t want any drivers or techs crawling through the car windows, therefore Ford demanded the driver door of the Ford GT must fully open without coming in contact with any part of the trailer.

NO TIE DOWN POINTS

The Ford GT has no tie-down points, so a forward-thinking system must be implemented.  Each Ford GT trailer also incorporates JIMGLO’s Versa-Track tie-down system, which features recessed and fully adjustable tie down tracks along with over-the-tire straps. The Versa-Track was a major selling point for Ford.  It offers maximum security while avoiding more conventional and potentially damaging chassis-based tie-down systems.

Trusted by Ford GT Owners

“Man, I have to say, as good as this car looks in here, it looks absolutely amazing outside in the overcast. Had Ian from Pat Milliken come pick the car up to take over to prepare it for the beating I am going to give it when I get back from Le Mans.I will say, I was very much a skeptic....but damn that JIMGLO is nice. I have never seen a trailer even close to that nice. I get the price now.

Ultra Ford-ish scenario”

The Ultimate JIMGLO Elite

As seen at Barrett-Jackson

JIMGLO expanded its Elite platform with the introduction of a Dual Escape Door configuration, publicly unveiled at Barrett-Jackson.

Built on the same JIMGLO Elite platform, this new configuration enhances accessibility while preserving the precision engineering that defines a JIMGLO Trailer.
